-
- [00:00 → 04:28] Introduction and Setting the Scene
-
-
Jason Schwartz opens the broadcast on KAKU 88.5 FM Maui, introducing the show “The Neutral Zone” and welcoming his special guests, Leiohu Ryder and Maydeen.
- The guests are presented as a celebrated musical duo deeply rooted in spirituality and Hawaiian culture.
- Leiohu and Made join from Maui, and the show is broadcast live via radio and Facebook Live, with plans to upload the session as a video on YouTube and MauiNeutralZone.com.
- Early conversation touches on the unexpected absence of opening music due to Jason’s recent personal situation (a car break-in and theft), setting a tone of vulnerability and authenticity.
- Leiohu and Made discuss their spiritual approach to music, describing it as capturing the moment inspired by nature, gratitude, and the aloha spirit.
- They emphasize that their music and life practice are not just about performance but about being present in the moment and serving aloha (love, compassion, connection).
-
-
-
- [04:28 → 12:13] Personal Stories, Spirituality, and Service
-
-
- The duo shares a personal story about having experienced violation and theft themselves, illustrating resilience and the ability to choose how to respond to life’s challenges.
- They explain their role in conducting ceremonies that serve the community, ranging from blessings for land and homes to life and death ceremonies.
- They describe their work as deeply intuitive and responsive to the spiritual needs of individuals and communities, often showing up with no preconceived agenda but open to what emerges.
- The process involves prayer, blessing, and an emphasis on releasing negative energies to restore balance and lightness.
- Leiohu and Made underscore the importance of listening with an open heart and trusting oneself, which they consider foundational to their life and work.
- The spiritual connection extends beyond music to embody a state of being rooted in aloha and the natural world.
-
-
-
- [12:13 → 18:39] Connection to Hawaiian Culture and Spiritual Teachers
-
-

- The conversation shifts to the influence of Hawaiian values such as aloha, ohana (family), mahalo (gratitude), and kuleana (responsibility to the land).
- Leiohu and Made credit their upbringing in Hawaii for instilling a deep respect and love for the land, which naturally leads to their service-oriented lifestyle.
- They acknowledge the challenges life presents but emphasize the importance of choosing love, presence, and aloha as guiding principles.
- Jason reflects on how the guests embody these values in their daily lives and work, calling them “solid grounded emissaries of truth.”
- They discuss their association with spiritual teacher Ram Dass and how his teachings on presence, grace, and love resonate with their approach.
- The guests highlight the role of self-trust, self-love, and authenticity in navigating life’s ups and downs.
-
-
-
- [18:39 → 26:21] Work and Impact: Blessings, Ceremonies, and Community Engagement
-
-
- Leiohu and Maydeen describe the diverse range of services they provide, including property evaluations, prayers, blessings, funerals, weddings, and spiritual support.
- They emphasize that each engagement is unique and tailored to the needs of the people and the moment.
- Their work includes collaborations with other spiritual leaders and participation in conferences and retreats.
- They recount recent projects such as a land blessing for a healing space in Maui and involvement in a conference supporting a burial and healing land initiative.
- Their global reach is noted, having traveled internationally to Japan, Europe, and the U.S., sharing Hawaiian culture and aloha through music, teaching, and personal connection.
- The duo balances large-scale events with intimate one-on-one support, fostering heart-to-heart contact with individuals seeking guidance and healing.

- Jason highlights their long partnership and shared passion for service, noting how their individual and collective energies coalesce in their work.
-
-
-
- [26:21 → 32:18] Musical Style and Artistic Expression
-
-
- Jason and the guests discuss the nature of their music, which they describe as contemporary but deeply rooted in ancient Hawaiian wisdom.
- The music is meditative, healing, and often used in therapeutic settings such as massages.
- Leiohu and Made acknowledge that their music is not mainstream or designed for commercial accolades but serves as a vehicle for connection and spiritual expression.
- They describe their art as reflecting a diverse spectrum of life experiences, blending folk, rock, and traditional Hawaiian elements.
- The music acts as a bridge between ancient wisdom and modern audiences, inviting listeners into a state of presence and gratitude.
- Jason appreciates the authenticity and heartfelt nature of their musical offerings, which resonate personally and culturally.
-
-
-
- [32:18 → 41:40] Philosophy of Love, Presence, and Authenticity
-
-

- The conversation deepens into philosophical reflections on love, joy, and unity.
- Leiohu and Maydeen emphasize that love is central—not just romantic love, but a broader concept encompassing joy, gratitude, and connection to the “Great I Am” (the universal spirit).
- They discuss the human tendency to forget unity and feel separate, leading to pain and confusion.
- The practice of returning to the heart, grounding in gratitude and aloha, is a method to restore peace regardless of external circumstances.
- They highlight the importance of embracing life’s challenges as opportunities for growth and healing.
- The guests speak openly about the vulnerability and strength involved in living authentically and transparently.
- Self-love, self-trust, and the willingness to show one’s true self are framed as essential for personal and collective evolution.
- Jason notes the deep mana (spiritual power) and presence they radiate, contributing to their impact beyond words.
-
-
-
- [41:40 → 46:56] Roots, Service, and Radical Receiving
-
-

- Jason asks about the origins of their passion for service; Maydeen credits their father’s teaching to “take care of your mother,” which instilled a lifelong commitment to nurturing and service.
- The guests reflect on how service is a natural extension of love and responsibility for family, community, and the land.
- They discuss the challenge of balancing giving with receiving, introducing the concept of “radical receiving” as a spiritual practice.
- Often people resist receiving help or blessings due to cultural conditioning; embracing receiving is essential for wholeness and flow.
- Leiohu and Maydeen encourage letting go of limiting beliefs about giving and receiving, recognizing that both are necessary and sacred.
- They affirm the importance of self-love and self-trust in this dynamic, especially when faced with difficult life events like theft or loss.
-
-
-
- [46:56 → 52:23] Upcoming Events and Global Engagements
-
-
- The duo shares upcoming projects including the One Dance Tribe event (Nov 1-6), an online global dance conference celebrating movement and spiritual expression.
- They describe their involvement in opening and closing prayers, as well as a presentation aimed at the global community.
- Other engagements include a retreat with Ram Dass in Maui, a conference in New York near Woodstock, and plans to visit Europe.
- Leiohu and Maydeen emphasize the diversity of their activities, including music creation, public speaking, ceremonies, and personal wellness support.
- Their website (Leiohurider.com) offers more information and access to their music, which is primarily available via download.
- They highlight their intention to return to the studio to record new meditative and collaborative albums.
-
-
-
- [52:23 → 56:30] Closing Reflections and Message to the Audience
-
-
- As the show nears its end, Jason invites Leiohu and Maydeen to share a final message for the audience.
- They emphasize themes of allowance, acceptance, and honoring free will—encouraging listeners to allow others to be where they are without judgment.
- Gratitude is highlighted as a central practice, both for oneself and for the interconnectedness of life.
- They offer a blessing celebrating Mother Earth as alive, whole, and deserving of reverence.
- The guests express deep gratitude for the opportunity to share their presence, music, and spirit on the show.

- Jason closes by directing listeners to MauiNeutralZone.com to access the episode and invites them to engage with the ongoing work of Leiohu and Made.

05:05
say our buddy really is more your buddy Ron das ramadasa OMB and you know that I think you know that I know for so many years I think you know you guys are you know you were there at them look Carlos nakai yes so long that was wonderful what a nice surprise these guys do video on radio land you don’t know but how would you describe what you do will you do an opening blessing yeah we did you know with Carlos Makai we did the opening blessing and then we did some improvisation in his beautiful beautiful expression you
05:46
know he’s his quartet that just played recently he just recently did shows Rhoda you know the four Islands here in Hawaii and we had met in Utah actually and we had been invited to to share our songs and our music but what we do is just capture the moment in song you know inspired by our beautiful mother earth the beauty of the rainbows the beauty of what gratitude is in in Aloha and the spirit and consciousness of Aloha and the music the the chance life forms vocal expressions however you know from
06:35
our beloved whole-new our beloved mother earth and we get to express them in song in service to the planet in service to Aloha so to describe us is is really we’re in the moment in gratitude and joy serving Aloha in whatever it is that calls in all in the moment and part of that is the music part of that is the is the songs it’s more of a state of being I would say it’s some there’s no secret about life it’s about being in the moment and being present and talk about violation it just sparked something in
07:17
our life that maybe 12 years or maybe more we had also violated we’re violated and these were guests that were staying in our house and one of the guys that was staying with us while we were at work he was going through our stuff he stole couple checks some business checks and bla bla bla bla bla oh my god then so identity theft and all this to happen and you know I’m grateful for the experience because not okay wisdom okay you you think you know everybody but and they might be staying inside your bedroom but this is a while
08:00
back and I think we can choose better now that we have a sense of the whole surroundings in the moment and yeah that was just a moment in time and here we are we’re still here we’re still here and I don’t let those kind of things mm-hmm I want to say change the who and what face yeah yeah exactly yeah exactly I feel sorry Thank You person that’s in the situation because I when you unwind it you find yeah this is someone who’s doing ice yes we know that one what equipment to make ice already in
08:39
one weekend the rest we know that they’re in the street market and they’re dealing with a very difficult situation so we say you know yeah wish that it was better for everyone yes yes I have that one I looked at your website I thought I know you guys for meeting with music many beautiful albums and songs you’ve written so thank you Jason they’re just absolutely beautiful that’s why I say we’re gonna do this again I mean as soon as you are maybe we can bring our instruments have you know yes
09:17
a couple of things that from an album I have so I was gonna be able to share it cuz I can share if I have the rights I got the artist right yes nice but I don’t have that so hey it’s okay we got you all right yeah Henry can you but when I looked at your website I really got a fuller breadth of like you said you live from our own place of Aloha and you do whatever right in the moment you do ceremonies ceremonies life ceremonies of death and ceremonies and I’ll let you more describe you know really it’s it’s
09:54
it’s embracing the moment and when we are contacted by many beloved’s globally or Island our Island and and planetary wide right whatever people need they will contact and we will feel and then we will take the steps to support them and all the things that they they’re in there about for example just give you one example this morning we got up very early and we walked some land with a deer a deer one that wanted us to feel what the land was was you know saying because this person wants to you know
10:40
make it permanent wants to purchase or you know feels called to serve this land in Aloha to create a space of healing for herself family and so on so we had the such a gift to be able to walk this land this morning and feel the joy of life to feel Maui’s joy to look up at Haleakala that which was clear to look across the Isthmus of Maui and see Kahala VA or mountain range and to look above and see Hema our moon right above you know just and to feel that the land just take a breath to feel like okay we’re all here
11:28
and in alignment as best as we can so we did that and then we were also called to another home to do a blessing because our beloved kupuna felt the heaviness of their their property and their homes that everything kind of felt trapped and thick and heavy and so we show up and we just met these beloved’s and we had the privilege of doing a prayer to release whatever wanted to be released so we never know when we show up you know what’s gonna happen yeah we kind of know we kind of know we getting a little
12:13
clues here and there or inspirations that drop in and say oh you know bring this brick or a wedding they call your funeral yeah yeah ain’t calling for everything feeling they they just know that you guys should be there because you have a good how do we say you’re in touch with spiritual realms and presence in this universe that they feel will add and clarify and support the hands ooh yeah-yeah-yeah yes it’s more about the feeling and you start from the music no no it you know I think it’s you know
13:02
she go ahead share you know it’s just being that um your everyday life you just come to know these things it’s like from the inside out you get to understand what’s within each one and you listen I think one of the key things is to listen heart open and be open without expectations and the rest just happens and trust talk about trust self trust and self love is the biggest component of this way of life and feeling so grateful Jason that we can be here right now in this beautiful radio station kak you
13:48
Wow that we get to speak and you invited us so grateful and we just two human beings we’re not you know I think special or anybody I mean I I see you as human beings who I know many whose you know my introduction to you came through music lady Ariel yeah this friend music yeah yeah suddenly you know you were in my life in a very sad way and I so that but when I think about you I think how does this happen you’re playing music you were partnered and loving and someone said or you know I did you become a
14:27
minister or you know you’re really yeah I don’t know how the realms yeah yeah so many different yeah we wear many hats it’s all service your awareness and your gift of your tremendous we all have our that we all have but you guys impress it and it comes through and everything that you do whatever well there isn’t all the different kinds of sense of balance and groundedness is very important important you know we’ve had vision a Mata Greta that is a prayer in itself yeah I think
15:06
we’ve been very privileged to be born and raised here in Hawaii and to to be offered all the values to be raised with the values of Aloha and all you know love and Ohana the kinship the family and Mahalo the gratitude and the kuleana you know the responsibility of caring for aina you know for the land and everything and so this this has been such a natural walk and and also a walk that helps us choose you know when we are faced with some kind of violation upon our spirit like such as what you
15:48
experienced on Friday with the theft you know that can deter your life that can make you sour or sweet or it can make you it kind of shake you sometimes and this is just life all the things that we go through so it depends on how we choose to to be in that moment you know be what is embrace what is stand in and what you know is your truth so you know for us I think Aloha has always been the navigational spirit of our our life and of course we didn’t just show up you know like this I mean we’ve all I think every every
16:28
beloved on the planet goes through whatever but we’re just two examples of just choices and so you know we were working and doing all the things that humanity does and being inspired by helping others being inspired by service to to up to love and to do whatever we can to help people and so now you know through the music through the prayers through all the speaking engagements the conferences and all the invitations into many many multiple expressions of life not just one particular cultural expression we
17:12
get to play in many playgrounds and and just help people take the step together just to help them everybody needs something sometimes so help them take the steps when I just seeing that from you we are with Leiohu who Rider and made Dini ow wonderful ladies we’re here on Maui this is kak you 88.5 FM on your dial I’m Jason Schwartz and this is the neutral zone it’s anything but neutral no this was originally going to be a political show but I had to give equal time to every candidate and there were a lot of
18:00
people running any place and it made it unreasonable to do and so I switched the values and so nice when I think of the way I’ve been how do I choose guests you know I choose them by what what you just shared I feel and I settle in in myself mm-hmm and I feel my balance and I know who is going how can I serve who is look at the round me and see who is passionate about this or that and there’s a great common denominator there’s this spirit of wanting to help and serve you messy you guys that mean
18:39
that’s I don’t know what to say you say it you say it is such conviction you know you guys are just that you’re just incredible solid grounded emissaries of truth Thank You inaudible brother my presence so someone might want you to come out and help evaluate this property and see what you think of it and how it might work best for them help them choose a location absolutely perhaps absolutely yeah you know it really depends you know or some people they have like things in their life that they
19:22
personally are experiencing and they just need a prayer or help clarify something or there are multiple reasons why people come and connect and you know sometimes they’re you know they’re referred by other beloved’s or and it Criss crosses the spectrum of life the spectrum of life we don’t have a boring nine-to-five wait a minute we did at one time had those the nine-to-five sure but what I mean is you have each other every time you go out to see someone it’s a new experience yeah yeah exactly exactly
20:05
as always yes always and you came in pair and he’s now you show up in the dinner that’s a secret to us not to compare that’s uh yeah we tend to sometimes compare among this to that but you just just be open and we can talk so much about a loja or anything else but it’s living it live you’re living live living it you live it now yeah you know two hours here one hour there but try the best you can living this open heart without boundaries and keep practicing expectation so yeah yeah yeah yeah so
20:49
wait a minute I was gonna say that it sounds like you’re rubbing shoulders with Rob does just being just be your being yeah or no really getting the focus of yeah just being here now and let that a that other stuff is there yeah before there’s very minimal words said when we’re with him it’s just the WoW moment and we sometimes just laugh that’s all together yeah you’ve done events here recently I guess in the last numbers of years mom Dawson yes I see you have got stuff coming yes yes I look
21:33
at your website you really describe your activity I may mention a few yeah what what kind of events have you been doing and what kind of things are you going at um okay with different than this other kind of part of you which is sort of your day to day yeah and breathing and a union right but then you like to say going to us yeah yeah showing you have conferences and different location yeah we okay so recent well this year we we did a Deaf conference with Reverend Bodie B were on his epoca KL board I mean we just said
22:14
yes last week to we’ve been supporting we’ve been and I’ll it’s been our passion for many years but we just said okay you know well we’ll be with you and so we’re involved in the conference and in helping them get the land for the for the for the for the work for the supporting this land out in haiku yeah but they’re talking about it is that Bodie was a guest on our show was talking about a piece of land where it could be multi-purpose not only have burials there but be able to have it have life
22:55
and yes many ways yes yes a great example of the kind of work yeah you do yes so from from blessing mothers to be or couples so from life to death and and in between and then with Ramdas we do a lot of we do a lot of the the ceremonies and blessings and at his retreat and we also are just dear friends dear beloved’s we just hang out just just enjoying and then and most recently we were in Japan and we were we had a concert we had with another Japanese artists which was lovely so a lot of collaboration we met we met we did a lot
23:46
of community things with different various ones coming and spending two and a half hours with us just talking story sharing breath sharing Aloha and each time helping each other take steps together and there’s so much happening in Japan as well so and we’re we you know we didn’t know we’d be traveling all over the world and that seems to be what we’re doing we’re we’re being invited to many places and and just showing up and being what is celebrating what is meeting our brothers
24:19
and sisters all over the planet and just having I to eye heart-to-heart contact a lot of conferences a lot of teachings a lot of music a lot of one-on-one talk story and support because just based on what our dear ones Mahalo yeah we feel privileged will you be able to share not only to express the Hawaiian culture through the world and express yourselves but to be that great example to me that is like the most important just seeing me in your presence and and the way you are and how that can impact others who
25:09
who really appreciate and respect thank you thank you brother I’m so grateful that you know to have a partner like me Dean because you know we’ve been together for 30 their last years and less and you know we kind of grew up together so to speak and and you know we we have where we have different individual passions but then we have a collective passion and so you know I’m just so grateful that we get to play in this way and serve in this way um you you do it well I don’t mean to break it
25:47
I’m gonna take yes identification all right sorry and then we’ll come back and we’ll be talking more we’re here with Leiohu who Rider and made a knee al and we will be back and I’m just getting ready to hit the right button wonderful my glasses on the neutral zone with me Jason Schwartz would like to sincerely thank David Bryan for his support David was founder and head of school at new Road School in Santa Monica California and as the board chair at the Ojai Foundation and on the board for brave

28:32
it’s evolved for the yeah it’s it’s contemporary from it I remember originally like contemporary from an ancient source it’s a little more meditative so you could like a lot of people use the music when they do massages or some kind of a healing art and so we hear back from these dear ones around the world mostly Europe though that they use very healing as I’m hearing you are processing uses oh okay but I thought of contemporary with an ancient source yeah I’m thinking about
29:13
ancient wisdom being delivered in a in a modern way that’s yeah understandable music you know I I hear cords and I’m thinking okay why sort of country-based yeah yeah folk and rock yeah yeah sure powder yeah but you said it also the other piece which is this ancient wisdom is being delivered you know in ways that are being taken in just so naturally someone in the side yeah it’s healing music a full so say contemporary whatever since that yeah whatever you know and really we’re not
30:01
everybody’s cup of tea and that’s fine but that’s what music does you know what we find is music just connects to people who like it and and and we’re fine with it but we never set out to to to get Grammys I mean you know to be we never that was never our purpose it was just okay that’s just together Edmonds let it be yeah and then it found its it found its way into wherever its found its way into the people’s heart space and and for that we are grateful the people that I know that no you are such a broad and
30:46
why yes broad broad spectrum and that really is so exactly what you’re I mean you’re living the purpose that giving yeah yeah deliver aloha broadly in in in a personal way even though you’re doing it in such a broad way you invite that personal connection through the third way you express it and through your music very personal some of the word on what they’re doing massage you’re right yeah yeah yeah it’s about diversity I think you know the eloquence of diversity is us and this human this
31:28
rainbow expression of life this kind of connection this very broad Epsom vast and wide okay that’s wise thank you Tony Mahalo brother yeah yeah he has a show on here at kak you also yeah oh so huh you have to tune into one and you remember you can get all these shows later up there at the Facebook page kak you so you can Leandro again these shows will be Maui neutral zone calm and you’ll be able to watch us sitting here and talking we’re really talking value is in a very broad brush what has been
32:18
the secret to your let’s see of course with no secret I know what’s the word I think love you know absolutely isn’t that funny yeah it sounds interesting about you know some some people we talked to like they asked like what is that love it was like whoa well there is a question okay they might not relate to the word love but they might relate to happy they might relate to joy whatever you know brings their openness the wiser word law husband sometimes people take that and put no they think that is it
33:07
romantic they tie a lot of things to it and just recognizing tie honesty the rights on all the attachments you know we’re all part of the great I am I we are all the all part of the great I am you know we’re in the unity the grace the lokahi the unity of Aloha in the great I am we’re just one little speck in all of that and many times when we think we are separate we just forgot and so when things hurt our heart or we just confuse we gotta just remind ourselves that we are of the great ovo I am and
33:53
you know I just always just move back into the blessings and gratitude the gift of Aloha or the gift of love that just helps me remember that and and I’m I’m not talking like I know it all it’s just that this has just been a step you can step outside of your heart or you can step inside and so now we’re just choosing inside and keep practicing even when we are wobbly not trusting ourselves wobbly tending to judge someone else wobbly because someone isn’t making choices that our mind says
34:36
you should be doing this it’s just letting go of every expectation because because life is beautiful and as our Baba Ram Dass says we are just souls in in a particular role and helping each other heal really you know these these expressions is just to help us heal and support and and be loved embracing what is as love so you know we’re just really grateful for that yeah it’s about experiences and how we move through each experience whether it’s not so fun and when when it’s all fun Wow
35:21
but it’s the really when you hit that point of not so fun experiences is how you come out of it you know it’s like like you if you can see my hand and you hit this wall and then you just take a breath ground and recenter and just be within your heart and then what happens is these walls just kind of melt away and then you just I’d like to say polka through or just rise up into a new vibration and then your heart is open again and this is this is life this is really life because there’s so much up
35:59
there but it’s within you how you feel in your heart your peaceful moments once you feel that inner peace doesn’t matter what’s happening on the outside yeah and and and we get to rise with our mother earth at this time as she is rising raising her vibration so I cheer all of us on wherever we are in our life whether it’s like full of joy or not so joyous or wherever but just know that we as humans are all brothers and sisters coming from the great I am and so we get to experience life in the physical form
36:37
and hopefully we choose what’s Grace what’s honor what’s respectful what you know whatever you choose we are cheering you on because face it we’ve been there we’ve been there some of those some of us have been the perpetrator or Raiders thank you for the word little whoo that’s what I meant perpetrators up to this moment we’re evolved you know to a new place in our physical physicality but the great I am when we can remember that Wow and it’s so powerful so powerful and it did I want to say
37:20
supersedes but it like this situation that just happened with me yes yeah the ability to put it in perspective yeah with something greater than that physical yeah yes violation one realizing the things that are important are still absolutely I am yeah I am Amen I am in understanding the you know something here happening or here happening yeah and we let that fall away and yes really rise up and you know we that’s why I say you you’re ambassadors of Aloha you’re we’re rising up and
38:03
sharing and people sense they and they can’t help but sense just seeing you and experiencing you guys you just I’m back to the same thing you know and you know you’re wearing it and living it and doing it in the moment expression hey nice to see the mirror you know not that we know knowing all because you know we you know for me personally we’ve got you know when you choose to be transparent who Amen when you allow when you choose to this self trust and self-love and to deepen as and practice as much as
38:49
possible allowing your authentic expression of love and light to be it triggers a lot around you inside of you and the choice to be transparent is not a gentle one you know many times because I mean we’ve moved through some very rocky parts but I have moved through many rocky moments in my life and question and you know cuz I always wanted to be accepted I wanted to be loved I wanted to get along with everybody I want everybody to you know love me and I’m realizing that it’s really me loving me me getting along
39:32
with me me accepting me and doing the best I can because when that happens then it just reflects outside you know but it’s it’s everyday taking the steps not thinking what happened before or even where I’m going it is being present keeping my heart on open and owned as much as possible you know practice practice for and just just carry on carry on alone yeah keeping my heart on I wonder if you when I hear that you know that I keep thinking robbed us but yeah when you sit wouldn’t do an interview with ramadasa
40:23
it’s like you know that you’re gonna have to be pulling words out yes when I first did an interview with him years ago I’m just bringing it up but that’s I simplify things down yeah let’s be here now prom that’s yeah I’m bringing it back to those simple things when you only have a few words cuz you don’t want to say you don’t need to say too much you can say and savage grace savage grace and then you hold up a handicap placard one of the benefits of being in this situation you guys do that
41:02
you know you express what you’re saying you you put a lot of words to this very simple basic truth your authenticity again I can’t seem to get away from that you’re very authentic when you when you speak your words it’s not that they’re calculated it’s that they’re press they come new they come fresh grounded strong powerful true and they hope they have a lot where do we say they have a lot of mana yeah sure they have a lot of presence thank you as well you know your
41:40
presence you guys is just a fact that nothing greatest thing about being here with you is just being in your presence because your presence speaks a volume before you thank you I’d like to ask you a question but you know you know what in your you know growing up you know did you always know you know this passion for life this this service for life you know for you where did where it where does that route or where does that come from for you in your own journey and they sound fun where do you say where did my my father
42:20
used to say as a little we were little boys my brother and I and he would say take care of your mother take care you mother taking so we were nice kids we took care of our mother but I think that that take care the service piece I got into the sort of service piece on it these become part of mine my nature mm-hmm and really feels very comfortable I yes when a situation my first thought is how can I make it better how can I serve it but I may think criticisms of it but I’m always somehow reach for the
42:57
service so that’s my Lee and my father credit I have a long time you know because as far as long as I’ve known you and I met you through aerial and through Unity Church when the moment the times we used to be there yeah you’ve always an in community because you run for office also you’ve all right right it was always passion you know like one one word you know you’re you’re passionate about serving there’s this passion in you and this joy and humor in you that I’ve always found refreshing
43:37
and so you know I just wanted to reflect that that you know it’s always been a joy for for me Nina and I to – honey you to hug you you know the societies where you see you but we’ve we always connect with that passion and that heart of service and care so you know it’s it’s easy to come here there’s something amiss it EU it so we feel that the think I’m gonna cutting you off because I one more what it was that expression kak you real good at giving them not that greasy in the
44:18
situation now even though I’m get help likeness Ariel help me you know and things I’m not really grounded in receiving good work how do you get that people that are givers how do you practice I think that’s what um what ROM das was saying about where was the grace what was what is that that savage grace that um and and and you call it so no I called it radical receiving because many times we resist receiving because we want to push it away because for whatever reason so some there’s
45:00
situations that we we are placed in it’s like the wobbly effect like like okay this is really awful I don’t want to experience but I know I got because it just happened like such Friday for you and yet it’s it’s still raw it’s still you know it’s still working it’s medicine and one of the things you said was hey that’s just stuff and I’m still here so it’s healing but that’s radical receiving it’s like really feeling the power of the self love and self trust
45:40
that you didn’t do anything wrong all you did was exercising and then this thing life happened but you’re not gonna stop you know your faith for Humanity your faith for the community by this one minut incident if anything it’s grounding it’s love in you to be received by you yeah and I think a lot of receiving is that we’ve been taught the blessing on us so much that receiving is not great that it’s always giving giving giving but it’s just Oh beliefs and once we let go
46:18
the belief and in self love and self trust that part part of living is receiving and yeah so we practiced a lot at it because we used to do that same thing to receiving but now I think we’re getting better at receiving and you know we pray pray and then we ask for the blessing but if we’re not able to receive how about a blessing won’t come when we do this to push it away push it away we got to be able to receive and to give and receive equally is one of the great learnings for us great learning
46:56
sound practice is authentic yeah so um what do you guys have coming up I mean when I’m looking in your your website was quite interesting no one dance tribe November 1st to 6th that’s here online that’s here in Maui it’s an online event it’s an online event first time globally we got we had about 10,000 hits you know basically it’s movement teachers and different beloved’s with around dance you know we’ve been actually involved with one dance tribe that started here on Maui
47:36
and we used to go to Kenai and most recently you know it’s in America and Europe we travel to go to one of these conferences but it’s movement and there are many teachers that are expressing their spirit and their beauty through movement of in many ways and in ceremony and we’ve met some of the Masters you know I’m sure you’ve heard of the five or five rhythms Gabrielle Roth that spawn you know like like created so many so so we have we have that one dance tribe that is a free event it’s live and we’re we’re
48:24
doing the opening and closing prayer plus we have a one-hour presentation to our to the global Ohana the global family you can find about this in other events of course at Leiohu rider comm it would be long way over ryder and mating yeah act along like these guys both lol e i o hu r yd e are.com doing that for you guys on radio because this is gonna be on TV and everywhere everywhere but if you’re just listening on the radio it’s important that you get that web address because you also have more stuff
49:02
that’s online but you also have a situation at the pili Kai Resort yeah we’re with the ROM das we were trom das the retreat and then next year we’re in New York and for another conference New York and Garrison New York it’s about an hour it’s actually on the yes yes yes it’s near Woodstock it’s across from the the military academy up there with West Point it’s right across the river it’s in an old actually was a monastery but now it’s a a retreat center dedicated to
49:41
like Buddhism and you know they’re different ones comes that’s a nice location and then we’re we’re doing um is that funny we go from Maui and we save go somewhere else for vacation house Vicky world comes here see and then we do a lot of we do a lot of individual individual support for people that want to come and just check the wellness in their being so we do a lot of that personal personal connecting with beloved’s then we’re going to Europe again next year from May to July so well I know your website yeah
50:33
but what you’re saying you know it’s interesting because I you’re not categorizable because thank you glad that we’re not in a war that’s really good you know I mean I was a really nice thing cuz you know I said I know you from music yes yes but I never really looked down this long in this laundry list is an expression of very open things keynote speaker could be a lot of things funerals counseling blessing ceremonies weddings and you know it’s just a very powerful and and I really
51:11
enjoyed I enjoyed looking at your website go to you guys should know if there’s a link there I’m sure I didn’t really look closely to the music you know I had an album download the music off our website yeah yeah can download it yeah we’re still creating CDs but only for new music we’re not reprinting the old ones so downloading is probably your best way hopefully soon we’ll be in the studio again to record another CD lots more meditative I would say yeah yeah yeah and collaborative you know I
51:50
mean there’s different and yeah we really we cut we try and collaborate with different ones sometimes every once in a while so yeah we were just talking about the next musical journey so we’ll see we’ll see what comes cuz we have some songs and yeah we’ll see what comes well I’m gonna make a a short pitch sometimes whether it’s in that studio or somewhere else I would love to sing with you oh yeah choose some things yeah you know I think I know you guys sing I think that
52:23
we can find something really for sure yeah I I you know we ask it where my core is my core is really at the the singing islands well I’ve heard just saying yes it’s beautiful it’s well thank you but um your your albums but I really would hope that everyone really gets to know so much about you more than the music because you’re really incredible crank you thank you losses I have just always been inspired by and I don’t know what to say I’ve said it again and I keep going back I
53:03
keep saying the same thing again and again I don’t know if that’s because that’s what really comes through being in your presence has you know this very loving grounded sharing open strong good feeling thank you in fact you know I’m I think I want to live right there [Music] you are well yeah right yeah yeah yes so do you do because we have no music I really feel it’s very become we only have three minutes to go in the show if you had three minutes and you wanted to deliver a message to an audience what
53:49
would come out or you feel towards allowance and acceptance you know to allow others to be led the way they choose allowance of choice freewill choice acceptance of all that is that things that are out there that we we may have ideas about how things should be done or whatever it’s just allow others to be where they’re at and not see them as less than or more than but just be in your heart as best as you can yeah be present grounded and it’s such a great feeling when you’re there
54:37
and it’s not outside it’s inside it’s inside yeah yeah gratitude whoa gratitude gotcha gratitude for yourself for all that is just being centered yeah I’d like to say that our beautiful mother earth is precious and she is alive and she is whole and we limit our perception when we see her as less than because she is more than that and so I offer my blessing and my prayer to celebrate the simplicity of life that allows us to be free to express our love and our and our compassion for all life above and below
55:44
and I’m so grateful to be able to be here in this moment with our brother Jason and with all of you who are listening and so we say Mahalo ke Akua Mahalo to the divine blessing of this moment may we all continue to breathe and be grounded on our beautiful mother earth and serve serve serve all that is Allah and this is Jason we are at the end of our show thank you guys later being here with me on the neutral zone thank you all for joining us check out our website at Maui neutral zone dot-com
