Summary &Transcript

[00:00 → 08:39] Introduction, Background, and Perspectives on Health & Climate

  • Host Jason Schwartz introduces the 101st episode of Maui Neutral Zoneand welcomes Susan Douglas, a long-time Maui resident and founder of a nonprofit called Temple of the Spirit which focuses on nutritional and supplement counseling.

  • Susan explains her philosophy: Our bodies are the temples of our spirits,” emphasizing the importance of physical health as foundational to emotional and spiritual well-being.

  • Jason appreciates Susan’s balanced and candid communication style, noting her ability to address good and bad issues fairly.

  • Susan shares a personal pet peeve: disliking redundancy and repetition, preferring to treat everyone as intelligent and capable of understanding the first time.

  • Discussion turns to Susan’s broad intellectual interests. She enjoys exploring interdisciplinary connections, particularly linking pandemics and climate change. For example:

    • A friend’s theory that viral pandemics arise from human encroachment on animal habitats.

    • Susan’s insight that climate change forces animals like bats closer to humans, increasing viral transmission risks.

    • Interest in regenerative agriculture as a method to restore harmony with nature and prevent future pandemics.

  • Susan expresses hopefulness about Maui’s future, praising local political figures such as Mayor Victorino and Councilmember Kelly King, who created a climate change committee addressing what Susan terms the existential threat of climate change.

  • She highlights local initiatives emphasizing food security and sustainable agriculture, referencing community leaders and innovative farming technologies like Regenesis.

[08:39 → 18:58] Personal History and Activism

  • Susan recounts her early social justice awakening:

    • Growing up in the San Fernando Valley, she was inspired by the Freedom Riders and the civil rights movement.

    • Attended UC Berkeley during pivotal anti-Vietnam War and civil rights protests.

    • Participated in large-scale demonstrations, including an anti-war parade where police violently confronted protesters.

  • She has a lifelong commitment to activism:

    • Founded the Maui Clean Air Coalition in 1979 in response to concerns about air pollution from cane burning and volcanic vog.

    • Personal health struggles from air toxins motivated her advocacy.

    • Organized community meetings, mobilized residents, and formed committees to address environmental health.

  • Later shifted focus to Y2K preparedness, emphasizing Maui’s need for self-sufficiency in food, water, and energy in case of systemic failures.

  • Over the years, Susan built extensive email networks to keep residents informed and engaged on environmental and social issues.

  • Recently, her activism has focused on climate change as the paramount global challenge.

  • She stresses the importance of voting in elections, particularly opposing the re-election of Trump, whom she views as a threat to democracy.

  • Encourages collaboration beyond party lines, highlighting that diverse political groups on Maui share common goals around environmental protection and community welfare.

[18:58 → 27:04] Election Issues, 5G Concerns, and Information Sharing

  • Susan is actively compiling a voter recommendation guide based on research from various respected local organizations like Maui PonoSierra Club, and activists.

  • She discusses the controversy around 5G technology, citing concerns that:

    • 5G emits stronger electromagnetic radiation than 4G.

    • The technology requires many transmitters placed close together, potentially causing health issues.

  • She balances this concern with other political priorities when endorsing candidates.

  • Susan invites listeners to subscribe to her Maui Sustainability List newsletter to receive updates and information.

  • Jason and Susan discuss the importance of local media and social platforms in spreading credible news.

  • Susan emphasizes the need to discern truth from fake news, noting the influence of Russian disinformation campaigns aimed at sowing confusion and distrust.

  • She advocates relying on trusted journalists and evidence-based newsrather than opinions or conspiracy theories.

[27:04 → 35:46] Voting Philosophy, Political Climate, and Social Cohesion

  • Susan addresses voter apathy and third-party voting debates:

    • She stresses the importance of voting, even in a predominantly Democratic state like Hawaii.

    • Argues that a strong popular vote margin is necessary to counteract attempts to manipulate the Electoral College system.

    • Points out the discrepancy between popular vote and Electoral College outcomes in recent US elections, calling the current system archaic and rooted in racial history.

  • Susan shares her personal voting choice: she voted for Biden despite liking Green Party candidate Howie Hawkins, prioritizing defeating Trump.

  • She expresses concern about Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett’s confirmation close to the election, viewing it as politically inappropriate.

  • Susan urges Maui residents to focus on love, harmony, peace, and justice, emphasizing community unity despite political divisions.

  • Discusses the challenge of navigating conflicting information in the age of the internet and social media.

[35:46 → 40:18] Final Thoughts: Vaccine Perspectives, Inner Voice, and Closing Remarks

  • Susan comments on mandatory vaccines, acknowledging some public paranoia but downplaying the likelihood of widespread mandates.

    • She notes that mandates might be limited to international travel or certain institutions.

    • Expresses hope in new treatments for COVID-19 alongside vaccines.

  • Emphasizes the personal journey of discerning one’s inner voice, distinguishing authentic guidance from external noise.

  • Advocates continuing to uphold love, justice, and peace as guiding principles during challenging times.

  • Jason and Susan conclude with mutual appreciation; Susan encourages fun and joy in activism.

Transcript

i am here with a very special guest this is the 101st show of maui neutral zone the neutral zone has been on since june of 2018 and we’ve been collecting all kinds of people as it seems that are very thoughtful and caring about all kinds of values here on maui and in the world and our whole world has been having things but rather than to be political my focus is as you know to showcase what we can do and all the great people and

00:51

ideas and there’s one person that came to mind my partner for many years in fact the whole time ariel said um you know we were talking about susan douglas because we just got an email and i thought what a perfect time to ask you and honor you i am with susan douglas susan douglas civilian or how do you call yourself susan are you a a temple you have a non-profit i have a non-profit called the temple of the spirit that i do nutritional and supplement counseling through which i call it that because i believe that

01:30

our bodies are the temples of our spirits and so if you want to keep all the levels of your being healthy i believe you start with your body and if your body is feeling good then you’re um most likely your emotional physical and spiritual self at least have a better chance of feeling good that was i was so glad you just said that there’s stuff out there coming at us but we have a better chance if we take care of the temple of our spirit absolutely god bless you and thank you for all the work that you do

02:07

but what’s always been for many many many years your science you don’t let it go to waste you’ve shared it with an audience that’s grown here and i’m sure all around the world from it and uh you have science things you have things about what’s going on locally all kinds of ideas thank you oh really thank you so many people thank you and uh um what i really appreciate is you um what do we say you uh hate everyone equally you’re not afraid to say what’s good and bad

02:42

equally i say that i say that in a funny way actually there are actually very few things in life which i love that i hate and i have tried counting those on one hand and i keep forgetting what they were because the first one for me is so big but it’s like kind of the only one i ever remember which is i hate redundancy i hate repeating myself and i hate asking others to have to repeat themselves and i have good hearing so if i hear you say something but i didn’t quite get it then i will ask you to repeat yourself and so

03:23

if people do that for me i don’t have any problem if they ask me once but if they forget or they keep asking me the same question you know what i mean i just hate repeating myself so i like to treat everybody as geniuses and that it’s interesting let’s just assume that we’re all genius we’re all we all have good hearing we all have good memories and let’s let’s i like moving fast mentally and not having to go back and forth over the same thing other than that there’s

03:55

very few things in life that i actually hate well let me ask you have you spoken about the same subject in some of your posts some of the people have over the years uh you know i know that i’ve been doing as officially my mama thing here for a long time 1991 1988 people don’t get it you gotta keep knocking on the door so redundancy maybe like you’re saying when you’re talking to someone personally but um i think that that’s what i’m trying to do is give them a way of looking at something and

04:29

thinking about it because they hear it once there’s so much going on especially in our new world of data we’re living in data overload you you and like you say you don’t like to repeat right however and so in my own life what that means is is that i’m interested in everything and i often don’t go real deep maybe i go deep into some subjects compared to other people but for me i feel like there’s so many things going on to be interested in that i want to get at least a superficial understanding of what’s

05:10

happening on a wide front of issues and oftentimes they’re related and they tie into each other so for example the other day i was talking to a friend about um the causes of these pandemic viruses that we’re now beginning to see more and more and why is that and she was putting forth the theory that it’s because of how man has encroached on the animal kingdom in our attempt to build cities and roads and whatnot and it’s put us in more in closer proximity to the animals who carry these viruses

05:59

that have eventually translated onto the human being and spread amongst humans and i was talking about how from my study of climate change the fact that the whole globe is warming is forcing certain animals like bats who traditionally have tended besides caves have lived in the tops of trees because it’s getting so hot up there now they’re coming down closer and closer to humans where we can catch them and eat them and that’s allowing the viruses they carry to get into our bodies so

06:40

the study of all these different fields from her point of view it was it was learning more about regenerative agriculture and how to how to build back in tune with nature was cross-pollinating in this one issue of how do we prevent pandemics in the future from the climate change perspective also so that’s what i enjoy doing is studying a lot of different fields and see seeing how they intersect with each other your newsletters have such interesting articles and things some positive some negative i didn’t

07:18

mean that you put out hate not at all i didn’t mean that what i mean is our world has so many things going on and all these subjects so mix people up that are listening i appreciate sometimes i get redundant on praising people i want them to know and i’m going to do it right now one more time because i think for me susan douglas you’ve been 25 26 seven years thirty seven more that i know right now 37 years on valley so you’re a native as native can be and you’ve been here like i have before the

07:56

masses of people and the internet changed everything here but we now have a chance and do you feel hopeful about where we are and maui what do you how do you feel these days i do feel hopeful i am excited about this upcoming election as far as the candidates there that are running for county council i have been mostly pleased with victorino our mayor and how he’s handled the covid issue and help to keep us safe right i have been really thrilled with kelly king starting a climate change committee within our government which is

08:39

fabulous because i i believe that once our all of our focus on kovitz gets over the hunk we’re going to be face to face with our primary issue which is climate change which i believe is an existential threat to the whole planet and it’s also an issue that can unite the whole planet because pardon me can you see what’s behind me where it says grow food ohana oh yeah maybe our audience you’ll see it in i had jenny pell on you know food security hawaii there’s so many people who teach you to

09:18

find and grow gardens and share you know blaze up there in maui meadows with his his stand and the beautiful fresh produce going that way and people learning these concepts and then taking them into their home i’m going to show you something quickly while you’re here what here in my shelf i have one of the few bottles of something called regenesis genesis sold out in the world you’re going to point it just this direction point it over here look at where i’m at i know you can’t buy it here in hawaii

10:03

right now we have a feasibility study that that committee you spoke about is uh contributing and we always need more for it but contributing a substantial amount to a feasibility study to show that incredible technology we’ve had our uh the guy that created it michael smith on we’ve had winsome williams who runs a farm and phyllis who trains farmers that’s well that’s like what we do i wha i don’t want to say a melting pot i don’t want to melt people i want to bring things that people don’t

10:40

think go together because of the even the climate we’re in for the it’s how do you make these pieces fit somehow and that’s what you do you know you’re seeing the pieces that fit just even in the names i mentioned i can go on and i’m sure you know all these people lucian denae and mark sheehan and people that have so many uh contributing ideas that work together al perez i want to give you a little background and that’s that when i was 14 living in the san fernando valley in l.a

11:18

oh yeah yeah my father took me to a hootenanny where the freedom riders came from the south and sang all these fabulous gospel and freedom writing songs that they’d written and talked about how like john lewis had been on the buses and they were attacked and they were beaten and they were killed and they were hospitalized and i growing up in practically an all-white valley i had no idea about discrimination or jim crow or even slavery um and or integration and so i was so moved by that whole process

12:01

that i came home that night and i told my dad that i wanted to go be a freedom rider and he convinced me to finish high school first and then go do it so i decided to do that so i finished high school and then i went off to my first year at uc berkeley where the whole uh civil rights movement was just beginning and then the anti-vietnam war movement was beginning and the picketing and the sitting in at the lunch counters and i that that whole era from about 14 to 17 is when i started having this

12:50

maybe essential part of me that is pro-justice get stimulated and get activated and ever since i graduated high school 69 are you sort of like me a little bit september’s uh june 63 is when i graduated so i was in that same that was in new york where were you you were in l.a berkeley in san francisco then i went to berkeley and then i came back to l.a but but the point is is that i i listen to astrologers of people that i trust as astrologers i sometimes listen to them and and a couple of good ones

13:33

the first one told me that basically the the essence of me or what i came into this lifetime to learn more about was how to have fun and so most of my life was focused on how to have fun now only in the last 10 years with another astrologer tell me that she felt that my essence or life lessons were mostly around justice and i’ve been looking at that for the last 10 years and really realizing what a prominent role the fight for justice has played in my life and so since i got oh and so actually when i was in l.a i was in my

14:18

20s um when lyndon johnson came to century city there was a huge anti-vietnam war demonstration 100 000 people and i was in the very front truck at the very front of this whole massive parade of people with this other i think he was 18 named steve 18 year old and that’s i think that might have been the first time that the cops attacked protesters and they came at the truck and they did their batons feet on the windows broke our windshield we jumped out of the truck and ran into the crowd i did because i didn’t want to get

15:03

arrested i always had this feeling that i was going to be famous someday and if i was i was going to be interviewed on at that time was the johnny carson show and i didn’t want to have a record that people could hold against me for whatever reason they might want to i’ve since let go of all of that but the point is is it is that i’ve always been involved with organizing people to stand up to things that i felt were right and good including on maui i formed the maui clean air coalition in 1979

15:44

because i remember i got here and wrote a thing about the uh you’re right from the cane and you were just starting i was 89 and the reason i did that was because the reason that i moved to maui from marin where i had been living for eight years before here was because the air quality in marin had gotten so much worse and i previously moved from la to marin for cleaner air and then it got bad marin and i moved to maui for clean air and then i discovered you know all the cane burning and then we had kilauea

16:18

going off and so we had the vog on top of the cane burning and there was one day when votes were going on and the air was so sick with toxins that i got deathly ill i had no energy and i it took a while to find out what was going on but it turned out i had gotten um this is called acute mononucleosis basically my liver had gotten so toxicified from the air and so it took me three months as i’ve been in the natural healing forever and so i tried everything and nothing was working and i wound up going to kauai

17:01

to this homeopath who was sent away to germany through this homeopathic remedy for um what i call fermano and within three days of getting it i was back my energy everything was pretty clear and i was back so then what i thought was that well maybe i should live on kauai and i looked all over kauai from my spot and nothing felt right so i came back to maui feeling like okay if i’m going to live on maui then i have to do something to stop with cane bernie i can’t do anything about the volcano but it looses

17:39

and cuts down by half so you know i put a little ad in the what was it the maui food press i think at the time and uh i said anybody else having problems from the cane burning you know either [Music] environmentally on your property with the black rain or health effects in your body and if you are let’s have a meeting and talk about it so 35 people showed up the first meeting and we formed committees and started doing stuff and that went on for a year and a half until i learned that y2k was becoming what i felt was a greater

18:21

threat to mali that if we didn’t get maui more self-sufficient if the computers really went down and the water pumps went down and there was no water or way of transporting through the pipes from up country for pa or if we didn’t have food stored because the ships weren’t delivering or all of various aspects of life all the things that could happen if the computer network went out then we better get ready for that so i switched and i formed a y2k preparedness group and worked on that

18:58

for the next year but it’s always been something and it’s only been in the last year or two two years i think that i’ve felt that mostly from listening to greta tunberg that climate change is now the existential issue facing not just maui but the whole world so i did that for the last year and then called it hit at the beginning of this year and then i did that and then when i say did what i mean is that in the process of being here for 37 years i have created email lists where i network lots of people from all

19:40

over the island whoever is interested in even other islands and even california and elsewhere to try to keep people informed on the best solutions to dealing with all of these various issues that we’re facing so recently it’s gotten more political with the election because now i feel like not just to the us but also to the world that trump getting re-elected is the greatest threat because he’s threatening our democracy per se and we have always been a leader of democracy in the world and if we stop

20:19

being that god only knows what can happen worldwide but i think it’s really important that people vote and that we elect democrats up and down the ballot on this coming election and clever republicans that are you know i mean washington is one thing is but there are good people and i i like to take down the wall because there are greens and blues and libertarians and people and especially here where we go you know no no parties and we got people that i i like to think that alice lee and yuki sugimura who are

20:59

perceived as the bitter enemy of the the coalitions that want a different area have lots of things that we all can agree on and amazing things can happen as we go and we’re going to be example to the world and that’s why someone like yourself is such an important part to me because you gently have been although it’s not redundancy but by redundantly getting emails out you’ve created an audience that’s listening and has learned and is open to things and we have a lot to say and

21:37

we’re gonna be you know what i say you talk about that fun wouldn’t it be nice if we could have fun and do good at the same time i wrote a viewpoint thing when i in like 1992 you may remember my old partner here john scorchino may rest in peace who worked with me in the early days of developing our image and stuff he uh talked about um this whole thing way back then that we if we wanted to build a playground we do a concert and we let the audience know how wonderful they were because of this

22:16

we are building this playground they were wonderful let’s have them come to another show and enjoy and show this or artists doing it art and music leading in cultures leading the way raising money through things that we do money and numbers for everything are pfa like plucked from air built into the system a cooperative piece that creates a flow all that is now people want to listen because we are the time when all that stuff come together so i mean i know i sound funny but all these people that have been on my show

22:54

are like people in your articles that you put out on the uh on your newsletter because but you’re the you’ve been doing this for so long right now on our local things any very important elections or charter amendments or anything that you think are really important for people to better understand we’re here mid-october and this will be out on radio well what i what i am doing is i am comparing the recommendations of all of the different people and organizations that i respect from the um own your own power about

23:32

5g people to sierra club to maui pono to individuals like sean lester and maria gardner and people who basically have their feelings out into the community and you know who’s been doing good work and he’s been standing up for the environment versus he’s been selling out to the old boys club into the construction that any cost necessary and um and trying to get to the bottom of the differences between them so i know i’m running a little late here because i know people have already started voting

24:15

but i’m hopefully in the next three days or so i should get out my own list of recommendations and um and the oha candidates a lot of people never know which one for those to vote for and so on i basically agree with the maui pono list but there are some differences and um and i just want to understand not only what they are but what my priorities are for example like maui pono is endorsing tied to hella for us state representative and the 5g people point out that he’s pro 5g and so i have to look at of all the

24:59

other things that he stands for how high up is the priorities of 5g for me so just to clarify that for people who don’t maybe know much about 5g my what’s happening is that the next level of technology is plot call 5g is said to where it’s been studied in different places around the world to be more dangerous than 4g as far as putting electromagnetic field radiation into our bodies because the wavelengths are shorter so we have to have these transformers every 100 feet to every thousand feet at

25:40

the most and so it’s it can create more illness so that’s my concerns how to keep our bodies healthy and how to keep our society healthy and okay all your good work thank you thank you anywhere where someone can see it well so uh i people can subscribe to my newsletter it’s called the maui sustainability list and you just have to send me an email and i’ll add you on to the list and if it gets to be too much you can always let me know and i can take it off the list what is basically yeah my email is sd3

26:19

like susan douglas numeral three sc3 at hawaii spelled out dot rr.com which carrier is that that’s been a long time rr that road runner rr is road runner spectrum base yeah okay well that’s good and we’re going to post that so people will see you know um your organization name now that you’re using besides temple i guess temple of the spirit but the email sd3 at hawaii.rr.com for all you on the radio you know we on akaku we’re also on tune in and all that stuff on facebook live normally is where this

27:04

all goes out so all of our guests seem to want to promote all of our guests because we have we’ve had some great people on and many of them are from maui but with this zoom time i’ve been able to do some long distance i interviewed hawkins he’s running for president green party that was a nice interview and his vice presidential candidate angela walker that was a good one for biden wanted equal time so so speaking of third-party candidates with president and vice president um i just posted on our local

27:43

next door site nextdoor.com is a national website where you go on and put in your zip code and you can sign up for your local neighborhood so we have in key we have about 5 000 people on this one little site and we have lots of discussions about all kinds of things from you know who’s a good chiropractor to you know selling your favorite toothbrush or whatever you want to know you have to stop the question and so i posted this article recently that i wrote that was stimulated by a friend of mine

28:20

who said that she was thinking about voting through a party instead of voting for biden and and it was called something like um are you considering voting third party or not at all which is another group of my friends who weren’t even gonna bother because they felt like being on maui which is mostly democratic it didn’t matter what they voted for because biden was going to win if he was going to win he was going to win anyway because of the electoral college because hawaii always gets the elected democratic elect

29:01

electoral whatever they’re called delegates electorate yeah yeah and so popular vote and here they grab it no matter what right so anyway i wrote this this long article about why i thought it’s important to vote no matter who you vote for and even and that that being a biden supporter but why i felt it was important to vote for biden and why in a separate email i sent out about what biden and harris’s platform is and how that compares to trump that more than just providing the fact that let’s say the polls are

29:45

right this time and that biden is headed to a win one we want to win by a wide margin by a popular vote to help convince trump and his supporters not to try to steal the election by influencing there’s about eight i think states that have republican legislators legislatures and the legislatures if it’s a close call they can override the will of the people and the vote and say this is too confusing trump is taking us to court on everything it’s too confusing we’re just going to choose the

30:30

electorate or the what i don’t think they’re called the electorate it’s called the electoral college yeah votes yeah and and and we’re just going to choose those electors and we’re going to choose all trump which is a good movement for how trump can steal the election but my point was is that if we show a big enough margin with the popular vote one it’s just hard to argue with the will of the people at that point secondly it helps to argue against the electoral college because

31:04

two out of the last three presidential elections the popular vote voted one way but the electoral college majority went the other way so i from my point of view two out of the three last presidents were not totally 100 percent legitimate even though we’re still using this arcane system which is based on racism and all kinds of things what i’m saying is that every other election this majority vote is one person one vote which we keep saying that’s what we are and that’s what we value and that’s why

31:46

everybody should vote because one vote is important and yet it’s not true i want to stop this conversation only because we only have a little time left but i want to because other subjects but i haven’t shared with anyone but i’ll share it now i voted for biden i like howie hawkins the green guy but i voted for biden and i think the reasons are exactly my reasons a little louder i think the reasons are exactly my reasons i think that we need to show that this is not a uh trump out we need to get enough votes

32:27

that the decision is clear and the popular vote matches the electoral vote and then we’ll talk about the electoral college just today i watched a few minutes of the supreme court thing with amy coney barrett he seems like a nice lady but i gotta tell you it was so clearly inappropriate for them to do this right before the election and the dialogue today was very very hot and very clear that uh we all have to be aware of our freedom and freedoms and i think one of these days uh we’re not

33:06

careful we’ll be divisive so we need to come into the neutral zone here and talk it out especially on our island because we may be on our own here you know and uh we should love each other because we have so many answers i know that you know it says if you when i get your things i always am so fascinated because the world is so totally solutions if we can get our own way here and just like cooperate together i think you were speaking more into your microphone better when you were facing a different

33:46

difference i’m like you see i’m not really sure where where’s the mic i don’t know but you keep going in and out a little bit i just want to know that is this clear yeah okay i’ll stay here yeah so i want to i want to mention one more thing i agree with you and now what seems to be happening that’s concerning me there’s this whole you know since the development of the internet and all these different sources of quote news and opinion um this truth versus fake news science versus not science

34:24

this whole debate has gotten from my point of view out of hand and dangerous and you know there’s this whole movement now that is being pushed by the russian government through the use of what are called trolls or bots that are putting up a billion pieces of fake information every day all over our social media to create chaos in this country and to create doubt and it’s like somebody said something about fake news traveling much faster than the truth and that’s it’s confusing a lot of

35:02

people on maui i think about what’s true and what’s not and i think it’s really important to get back to our roots and get back to our long-time trusted respected journalists and investigators that have a history and attractive of following the evidence and following the science and relying on those news sources that um that are not based on just opinion or rumors or conspiracy theories or pushed by russia whatever well easier said than done we’re in the middle of it it’s really very funny

35:46

when we get outside the chessboard we can see all the pieces moving but down here when you’re one of the pieces boy is it a interesting game i you know i sit on my ivory tower with my theories but uh now is a time when we gotta start taking action everyone’s gotta see their role i’m glad that you’re getting to be justice and fun i hope yeah absolutely why not you’ve been really a wonderful guest today any subjects that you know that are really otherwise important if you want to be sure if you got this

36:25

chance thank you for coming on here i know you’re not often on media like this but i wanted to honor you peter thank you um you know i i maybe have been a little bit over obsessed with some topics that some friends of mine and i have been debating about lately which are not necessarily the most important subjects but some of my friends are freaked out about the idea of mandatory vaccines and i just don’t see that as i think that’s coming from paranoia and from anger and i am this rebellious teenager

37:09

insidism that really wants to just defy authority i don’t think it’s reality-based i don’t know if we’ll ever have a really a good vaccine that works and i’m beginning to shift my hope for if not eliminating closures getting it under control to treat to the new treatments that are coming along rather than vaccines the mandatory vaccine aspect if it happens at all i see being relegated to perhaps travel if you’re if you’re going to get a passport to another country they may

37:47

want you to get a vaccine before they let you in or to certain colleges or schools if they have in-person learning but other than that i don’t think it’s anything that people need to worry about and i just want to you know again encourage people to really study that and you know biden has assured us of that too he came out and said that the federal government is not going to mandate you know vaccines so i want to lay it out with the rest as far as other subjects i guess um i guess it’s really you know

38:30

the hardest thing in life from my point of view is is finding your own inner voice or learning to distinguish god’s voice from all the other voices in your head and being able to learn to trust yourself and be yourself and get guidance from within as to what feels right and to keep focused on right versus wrong versus right versus left and um you know as you said just keep up holding the love and the harmony and the peace and standing up for that and standing up for justice um you know we will we’ll get through it

39:18
